4 Cheap Ways To Travel Across The USA

By |

Your ESTA USA is your visa to travel from your country to the United States. But once you get there, moving from the airport to your chosen destination or city can be by train, bus, taxi or by rental car. Find out which one is a more convenient option for you.

Bus – The Cheapest Option

Whether you’re just headed across town, or you want to travel cross-country, a bus is the cheapest option. Buses like Greyhound buses will stop in almost all major cities; however, a trip that can take only 8 hours by car can take up to 13 hours or more on a bus. But if you want to explore more places by land and you’re not pressed for time, then traveling by bus is a practical option.

More Destinations By Train

Moving via Amtrak is an excellent way to travel in the US. If you plan to stay on an extended period in the US and explore different places by train, you can purchase a rail pass for 15 to 45 days. Amtrak travels to more than 500 destinations, and there’s no traffic. Train rides can be pricier than a bus, but it’s an adventure on its own.

By Taxi Within The City

If your destination from the airport is within the city, taxis are available at airport stops. All you need to do is to fall in line and wait. You may also choose a ride app like Uber or Lyft if these are available in the city you’re in. Taxis are indeed pricier than riding a city bus or renting your car, but if you’re in a hurry, then this is the best option for you.

Why Not Rent Your Car

You can rent a car that will be available as soon as you are at the airport. This is more expensive, but you’ll take the vehicle anywhere, and you can rent it as long as you want. For this option, you must have a valid driver’s license or an international driver’s license to rent a car.

You can also choose from different types of vehicles; pick a van or a pick-up truck if you’re traveling with your family. Renting a car is one option, choose the best one that’s right for your needs and your budget.
